  • 8 oz. of dry bread cut in cubes
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 spoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract


Soak the bread in the milk for about ten minutes.  Pour the bread with milk in a pan, add the sugar and start the heat at low for ten minutes, moving constantly.  Once the bread starts loosing its form and break apart, add the eggs (and break the yolks immediately), the butter, the cinnamon, the salt and vanilla, and stir well. Pour into a rectangular greased mold and put into the oven (350F) for one hour.
