Keep cooking for 15 to 20 minutes or until the figs are soft (slightly squeezable).<br \/>&#8211; Keep the figs in the water in which they were cooked for another 24 hours.<\/p>\r\n<h2>3rd day<\/h2>\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5253\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3-461x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3-461x1024.png 461w, https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3-135x300.png 135w, https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3-150x333.png 150w, https:\/\/blogs.pacasmayo.com\/jenny\/files\/2022\/07\/image-3.png 544w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n<p>&#8211; Throw away the water and squeeze each fig delicately until most water is out.<br \/>&#8211; Put the panela (brown sugar), cinnamon, clove, star anise, and the leaves in a large pot<br \/>&#8211; Add 6 cups of water and set it to low heat until the panela is totally dissolved and starts becoming syrup.<br \/>&#8211; Add the figs and continue cooking on low heat until the syrup becomes thick -approximately 3 to 4 hours.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\r\n<p>Serve the figs -hot or cold- in their syrup.
